In honour of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Durban Holocaust & Genocide Centre, as part of the South African Holocaust & Genocide Foundation, is proud to announce the release of an e-book, Portraits of Survival. Volume 1: The Holocaust a collection of more than thirty stories of Holocaust survivors who settled in South Africa.
The book is a collection of inspiring short vignettes highlighting not only the diversity of experiences of genocide, but also many important lessons and insights into the consequences of discrimination, prejudice, and othering. The power of activism and speaking up is an important thread throughout the book.
