The South African Holocaust and Genocide Foundation’s statement on the killing of George Floyd

The South African Holocaust & Genocide Foundation (SAHGF), on behalf of its three Centres in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, is devastated by the recent cruel killing of George Floyd. Sadly, this is not the only such incident in recent times, as we see an alarming rise of incidents of hatred, racism, antisemitism and xenophobia.

The SAHGF is fully committed to confronting hate through education and the promotion of respecting human dignity. It is important to learn lessons from the Holocaust and genocide, and to encourage all of us to become upstanders in our communities.
